Installation Steps

  1. Donwload the last release:
  2. Copy to GAC the files: csc.ThirdParty.Ciloci.FormulaEngine.dll and csc.ThirdParty.PerCederberg.Grammatica.dll. The source code can be found here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=189947
  3. Run the following command: stsadm -o addsolution -filename "csc.SharePoint.CustomFields.wsp"
  4. Open SharePoint Central Administration >> Operations >> Solution Management and deploy the solution
  5. Copy the resource file from ~\12\TEMPLATE\Resources\csc.SharePoint.CustomFields.resx --> C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\YOURWEBAPPID\AppGlobalResources\ folder.
  6. DONE

Known Bugs and Limitations
  1. BUG: First time when the custom field is added to a list the custom properties are not saved.
  2. LIMITATION: When the field formula is changed, or any other properties, the existing values of the field are not updated. Missing event receiver that should handle this occurrences on list level.
  3. LIMITATION: There is no user friendly way to define and test the formulas and also to display all supported Excel functions of the Eugene Ciloci library.
  4. LIMITATION: It is not possible to sort the field values.
  5. BUG: Running the field within a list under a sub-site of the main site, the field doesn’t render properly.
  6. BUG: The field doesn’t work in views with Group By clause.
  7. BUG: Only one field per view can be used. More fields generates unexpected behavior
